The swim test consists of 2 laps or so across pool wearing racing Lifeline type jacket. Also you will tow your co driver across pool both wearing Lifeline jackets. Rescue swimmers will show you the correct method. Also, rescue divers will show you how scuba regulators work in case you are stuck submerged. Closed canopy crew will have to do all the above plus extrication course from a restrained dunker. The rescue people and the test are there to show you the best way to handle a water emergency.
