Cool, averaged 1.6 MPG and I'm sure they were running hard the whole time.

.

DCB reached 6500 RPMS? The Spec's says 6400-7000 RPM max. Can this run to 7000 RPM?

Also are they willing to try other props? Say Herings and DeWalds?

They probably had to wait for the Merc Racing rep to leave the scene before they could try other props. But my bravos are the best all round props by cost for my boat. Not worth the extra thousands for a pair for the few extra mph.

I can't decide if this is a good number or not???? I sold my Spectre 30 with twin 300XS's a year ago. That ran 95-99 MPH with 15 X 32 Cleavers. I realize this is 10 mph faster, but it should be with 200 extra HP. Thoughts?

200 extra hp but over 300 extra lbs. Plus I think the spectre is a faster hull.

I can insure the fast center consoles up to 130 mph with center console rates, not high performance.

13yrs ago, a Eliminator 30 Daytona with 425hp 496HO's went 103mph.
KAP's 32 Doug Wright with Opti 300's ran 113mph in a mile at the LOTO shootout.

Fact is DCB is not known for great speed numbers. Lots of comparisons that show there are faster boats out there. OL V bottom went the same speed as DCB cat with same power in LOTO.

That being said I would still love to own a DCB. They are amazing works of art that every DCB owner should be proud of. This 29 with outboards may be one of the nicest cats I have ever seen, I am in Love. Thats really what DCB is about, passion for the art and execution not just the top speed.

I agree with C&M.
A solid 10mph gain over Opti's on the same hull is nothing to sneeze at either especially since they could probably pick up mph with some better props (cleavers).
