Default 120mph 28 Skater w/ DBR 300XSs and Dewald props

I've got to give Joe Abellera, Dave Bush and Dave Dewald some huge credit for getting my 28 Skater w/ XSs to run as if it had Xs on it. I know there were some not believing the numbers I am getting with my setup, so I set up my Contour camera and went out this morning. You guys get to see what I see from the driver's seat in this video - no BS and I'm not trying to hide anything. My XSs have the new DBR 1.3 version ECU flash, intake rings, aluminum flywheels and tuners swinging a set of 14 7/8" x 35" 4 blade Dewalds. Thanks again Joe, Dave and Dave!

Looking pretty comfortable 'one handing' @ 120!
Must be a great setup, well impressed.

Thanks guys. Here is the first pass heading into the sun. I was having to find my line through stuff floating in the water, as well as dodging mud hens all over the place! Also passed a boat going the other way about halfway through the run. Just wanted to post this video to show that there was no current on the water I was running today. The first pass didn't quite get 120 (118 or so), but you can see why with all the small direction changes I was making, as well as the boat wakes that unsettled the boat a little. The two passes in the videos are the only two I made, with the second obviously being the faster as I had cleared out the mud hens, and had a straight run through the floating debris that I found on the first pass. Once I saw a fat 120 (was actually just past the 120 mark from my higher perspective of the speedo), I was satisfied and headed home. I've always said that 120 was my goal, and I did it with the back seat in it and the standard hatch on it, so I'm very pleased. No doubt that I had very good conditions today - still/cool air (60 degree temps), 40 gallons of gas on board, no passengers and my wind deflectors were also off (having new Lexan pieces made right now). I don't doubt that I could get another 1-3 out of my setup if I took my back seat out/put the race hatch on and sent these 35s back for some dialing-in (this is the first time I've run these 35s), but this is it for me. I'm very happy with the performance as it is, and I'm not going to go through all the hassle of chasing a bigger number. Plus, my speedo only goes to 120 anyways!

Hey Dale, Congratulations very happy for you. I remember you saying you were shooting for 120mph. Those props aren't tweaked at all? what would you have them do if you were going to fine tune them? Did you ever try the five blades on your 28?

Dale- Isn't that the long slough right before you get to Tiki lagoon, whiskey slough?

Looks like there is still a bunch of junk floating in the delta. I hope it clears out and stays clear. I love the delta, best boating anywhere. Man us Californian's are spoiled. Lol Weather too
