Hell hasn't quite frozen over for Patrick Haughey at Active Thunder Powerboats, but things have warmed up a bit, http://speedonthewater.com/new-boats...-foot-bowrider

I don't make the rules or set the prices, I just know the marketplace.)

Pat's son Casey has been a great addition to the business. He's been able to badger legacy management into newer concepts.

AT remains a true custom boat builder; and will build whatever makes the phone ring.
More to come.

That is a trend, no doubt about it, and it's awesome. But big center consoles from established go-fast boat builders are out of reach for a lot of buyers. Both Active Thunder 29s will price out between $170,000 to $180,000, which is relatively affordable by performance-boat standards. (Don't shoot the messenger.
