I've got a Bravo 1 drive and was having an issue with the drive slowsly dropping while under way, so replaced the pump beginning of last year and never had an issue again.... however, I noticed while servicing my drive I was re-installing the drive, one of the trim rams wasn't aligned, so I hit the trim switch up... and only one of the trim cylinders move up/down...
Curious if the one trim cylinder is bad, or if its just because there is no pressure on the cylinders and all the fluid goes to the one cylinder?
If its bad, can it be rebuilt or do I need to purchase a whole new one?
Thanks in advance!!

If you happen to have Insta Trim tabs, yes, the pump can be rebuilt. Just had mine rebuilt at the factory (got it back and it looked like new with new tank and hose fittings), reinstalled and ran all new hydraulic hoses. Works great now. Would assume that Bennett and Lenco can be rebuilt as well, but I have never dealt with them. Someone else might be more help.
If one moves and the other doesn't, possibly a bad/stuck solenoid. Make sure your battery is charged up fully. Fluid level ok? My tank and lines had a bunch of crud that looked like mud in them. All the old hydraulic lines were brittle and had started seeping fluid.

If you operate drive trim with rams disconnected , the ram with the least resistance will move first . You can manually push an extended ram in and the other ram will move out . Its pretty rare that both will have the same resistance so you should be fine . Good Luck !!!

What you're describing happened every year to me with my previous boat. Over the course of the winter the rams moved, so when installing the drive one would always be misaligned, and running the pump up or down would initially only move one ram. When the one that is moving reaches full extension the other will move and you can line everything up. It never seemed to be a problem once installed, but it was on an alpha drive with the 140hp 4cyl motor...
I wonder if the symptom is indicative of a problem or just how the system works. Thinking about it, the pump will move only the ram with least resistance so maybe when unloaded what we're seeing is normal.
Edit parasail beat me to it.

Actually now that I'm thinking about it, when the drive is hooked up, and the one cylinder is misaligned, if I hit the switch up, the drive goes up first and I don't think the other cylinder aligns itself... I always fight to get it all back together!
