Default Alternative to Rubber Exhaust Flappers??

Is there something that works better?
Has anyone tried the stainless clamp on ones that are available from Hardin/CP Performance?
What is everyone using?

Hey clyde, have you considered extending your tails to make them fully dry thru the transom, and then dump water at the very end of the tails? I have a guy that can do that for you, he's in Homer Glen.

The drew marine shotgun silencers are pretty cool. They take a little of the bark out of the exhaust at idle, and have spring loaded flappers that serve as anti backwash....http://www.drewmarine.com/products/shotgun/shotgun.html

I have the Hardin stainless steel flappers. They work and look great. They were just ridiculously expensive.

Hey Joe, That is actually what I have now, water exits at the very tip. I think part of the problem I was having is the water was hitting those rubber flappers and getting suck back up the exhaust. There was alot of water coming out the tails.
Basically having the tails converted now to totally dry, only a small amount will be coing out the tails to cool flappers/mufflers if needed. Having fittings welded in and water will be dumped overboard.
I also had an exhaust leak, which I didn't know I had that amplified that problem.
Thanks for your input.....I still want to talk to you about those cams!

Dana marine actually had the best ones I've seen, but the guy that took them over just let the company die.

And if anyone is interested in them, I have four of them sitting on a shelf in my garage.
