guys, just rebuild motor, 525 hawk, new everything. having problem with the motor loads up big time when coming of plane i have 2.5 power values in cabs. also i saw so blue smoke that came out of the the new motor, what could this be. please help. thanks scott

Used to have the same motors in my cat. It came with 6.5 power valves in the modified 850 Holley. Flower 960, I think.
What ignition are you using, and what's the advance? Mine ran 10 initial and 26 total advance.
Blue smoke is oil. Coming from the rings or valves. If he just did a bottom end rebuild (rings and bearings) he might not have done the heads. Needs new valve seals. Was the blue smoke on startup only?

gary, blue smoke came when running wot. i talked to hawk at cigarette he said that the timing should be 27 degrees at 3800. i do not know if the motor is hurt, didnt hear a kock. thankx scott
