Did you replace the impeller because it was broke

Was it in pieces. You may have pieces of it lodged in the various water passages preventing water to flow

The motor got hot. Cracked heads. Put a brand new 357 with some good heads and cam. Never could figure out why it got hot originally before rebuild. Put new impeller and water pump on just to make sure. No water coming out exhaust now tho. The old impeller seemed fine. Just put a new one in just to make sure.

Pull the hose coming out of the outdrive(looks like a heater hose) fire the engine up with the hose disconnect and water hooked up and see if its atleast pumping water.

Next I would start suspecting a water pump impeller (engine driven water pump) could be bad and not circultating the water.

Okay I'll be checking at the outdrive where water comes in that hose. If no water comes out. What do I check on the out drive ?
