Default sea water / fuel pump rebuild........help

Does anyone have the link detailing the rebuilding of the pump to include the shaft, bearings etc. I don't need the link for impeller replacement. All my recent engine issues are discovered, the cam and ring on the pump shaft are damaged and I need to do a complete rebuild.

Thanks,
ed

Nothing special about it except you'll need the tool to remove the pulley, auto parts store will have that for rent.

Press the old stuff out, order replacements, press new stuff in.

I walked into a bearing house with the old components and walked out with new for $20ish.

As for the shaft, I dunno. Lol

I'd replace the seals as well. If those lose integrity you'll be really upset with yourself.

Dumb question, when I just took my fuel pump off I noticed a plastic bushing floating loose on the cam? Does that make any sense? Should it be that way? I did a search and asked a few questions but couldn't get an answer.

There should be a metal ring.

Just did this myself. Luckily, me shaft and collar were OK. I have another pump I replaced years ago with a whole new assembly, due to a bad shaft that was grooved at a seal location. Was not aware that the shaft was still available?

I kinda remember it being teflon, but I could be mistaken. It just loosely floats around the cam lobe, correct? The box of parts that came with the boat had an old fuel pump in it where the arm was worn nearly completely through so it had been run dry at some point.

Aftyer looking at a actual image of the parts kit the ring appears to be some form of plastic or other synthetic material.

After tear down I'm replacing everthing but the shaft. All the seals, the ring, bearings etc. The actual shaft is OK.
