Default Holley 1050 or Quick Fuel 1050

I need to put a new carb on a 540. It has a Dart 4500 intake. I have had faw 540's wth Holleys but have never had a Quick Fuel carb. I see good things about them but have a few questions. How are they to tune compared to the Dominator? Do they use the same fuel inlet lines? How is their drivability for those of you that have them on your boats?

If you are getting a 1050 Dominator type carb, this is the one that we use except in 1150 CFM. It should close be bolt on out of the box.

Marine 1050 cfm 4-bbl Carburetor
Model 4500 Dominator
Dual fuel inlets
Dual 50cc accelerator pumps
4-corner idle system
Progressive linkage
2-circuit metering
Replaceable air bleeds
Nitrophyl floats
More info on Holley 0-80340-1

The new Holleys and quick fuels are very tuneable. If looking for a "marine" carb, holley only offers it in the above carb benperfected mentioned. Its a good carb, but lacking some modern features. Quick fuel, offers a "marine" dominator, with modern features, and the "black diamond" coating, which is very nice. My buddy just purchased a pair of their 850 "marine" carbs, and is happy with them.

Here is the carb Benperfected is talking about

Here is the quick fuel version

The answer to your question is every aspect of tuning, bolt on parts, accessories, etc.is exactly the same.
