The 38 came from a 41 foot mold?

Where do these stories come from?

Well to add to the rumors, it has a 11.5 foot beam.

It was originally a 7 foot beam when it was a 41, but when they shrank it they left the bulkheads in that caused it to expand to12 foot, but later shrank again to 11.5.

Everybody get that?

That sounds like the story of the number 5, 43 Scarab that they cut the noise off to fit it in a container that was a great feat of engineering being that the boat is 8' 6" wide but this guy swore that he was there and saw it done!

well the broker who was selling it before mr.larry rutter, told me that the owner measured the beam and they say it was 8 feet, still have the email he sent me before,so there is the confusion,i could never have shipped it with a 11.5 beam so that was maybe the reason they give me the wrong information.

Just had a thought, maybe Don Aronow didn't have a tape measure and his feet were 14" long?

Edit: sorry, I've been really busy all day and now I'm bored...

let's hope the rest stay friendly i think i mixed up with this article, my excuses to all that get offended by that.

The history of the 41 foot boat goes back again to that 8 foot beam 24 foot boat that Don built for Doc Magoon. He took the 8 foot beam and used it on his new 35 footer. He then stretched that to a 39 footer. He once again changed the length by blocking the 39 mold at 37.6 and pulling Ajac Hawk out of it. This boat was introduced to the public in Argentina at the World Championship in 1978, with Jerry Jacoby driving and Bobby Saccenti throttling. This boat was the beginning of the line that was known as the famous 38 Top Gun series.
