Default Coil is hot to touch

MSD Balster coil. Stock everything else.

Is this normal?
Thanks

standard T-bolt. HEI
I guess I should have said this is when running, not when off.

Coils do run warm. Too much heat means a shorted winding, loss of oil (they usually are filled with oil), or metal particles in the oil (from a shorted winding).

How hot is too hot?

Good question...

Twins make it easy to compare and diagnose. Wish I had better info.
