Great place to showcase a new product in front of offshore racers and poker runners, http://speedonthewater.com/new-boats...er-run-village.

Well, I had to ask the question, right?

Hey, I'm not a marketing guy but I do know that sometimes to create demand products get released in stages. It's worth noting that when Mercury Racing first introduced the 1650 it was "for racers only." And they've done OK with the sales of those.

For what it's worth.

.

if XCat selects a USA-bound venue, then the new 400R XCat motors will become available in the US.

I just thought it was CRUEL tease to reveal the engine at the Worlds and then not have a definite release date....

So ... there you go. My guess is you are in Key West and talked to someone at the booth today. News is dynamic.

And if you're in Key West, please stop by the Smokin' Tuna Saloon sometime between 6-9 p.m. We'd love to meet you.

I heard from a source of mine through someone at Mercury the motor will be available in the US to come. 40k is around what they are thinking and NO warranty.
I think that will change and in order to sell them they will need a warranty.
But here is the question. The motor looks awesome. But why pay 40k and get no warranty when you can get a 20" version for 27k with up 4yrs warranty?????? Math does not work for me.

its a classic case of customer based testing. Pay top dollar for a test model. Meanwhile you can get paid to test drugs.... Sounds like a good motor and looks awesome. I hope it works out for them. At he end of the day if not for hippie liberals how far advanced would we be in 2stroke motors. Less moving parts twice the power
