I want to upgrade my switches on my dash to something more modern. Currently have 9 old-fashioned toggle switches - each with an old fashioned breaker button. Some are 2 way (on-off), some are 3 way (on-off-on) - looked under the dash and see that two of the 3 ways are 6 poin, one of the 3 ways is 5 pin and all the 2 ways are 4 pin. I have not had time to get my multimeter out and play with the wiring. But just wanted some quick input as to way my simple 2 ways would need 4 wires? I would have though 3 pins is all - one to ground, one to the breaker, and one to the device that the switch is powering.
I'm asking cause I'm looking at ebay for ideas on modern switches, and many dash switches are 3 way.
Also does anyone have pics of before and after of dash switch upgrades - I'd love to see some examples to get more ideas.
Thanks

Would need pics of front and back of switches to fully understand, but some switches will provide multiple circuits in one switch. So a simple on-off could fave 4 terminals on the back thus providing two individual circuits.
