At one time, I believe there were different versions using different springs and washers etc. that changed alignment. I am preparing to do a Bravo conversion and don't want to buy a bell housing that wont jive with the inner plate I wind up with.
Any knowledge here? TIA

I posted this before up here about the springs and the service bulletin. KEEP in mind everything goes by serial numbers for the marine side of things so check what you have and or are installing. Merc changed this out a very long time ago and many people still to this day install springs.
I see it alot happen even by marine repair shops as it is a totally wrong install that causes coupler failure in short order and or miss alignment.
The serial number start is listed in the service bulletin. FYI
Make a copy of this OEM Merc service bulletin.

Added info - you can use either transom set up but again you have to install it correctly and use the correct parts that Merc has set it up for. Look at your serial number of what you are buying for the correct set up plus the service bulletin covers what it looks like and correct set up.
