Default HP 500 rebuild cam question

I'm in the beginning phase of rebuilding my hp 500 carb this winter, although my original thought was to keep motor pretty much the same as factory, I'm finding me wanting a bigger cam, does anyone have a proven cam upgrade that didn't increase idle RPM drastically and hasn't caused a bigger reversion issue. Any suggestions on this rebuild welcomed, I'm running stock carb, heads EMI Thunder exhaust

the 500 efi cam is a better choice and less chance of reversion.
