Default How to tell cored hull sides vs non cored?

Guys how can you tell between a cored hull sides vs a non-cored Hull? Is the pic below or a cored hull sides? Does anyone have a pic of a non-cored hull side boat to compare?

Thanks & I have attempted to show a pic but I dont think it wants to work for me. **** So if anyone has a pic of a non-cored hull sides I'd GREATLY appreciate it!

The only way I know to tell is remove a through hull fitting (fuel vent, bilge discharge)

No if you can get a pic inside the cabin you can clearly tell without removing anything . Coen uses either 1/2 or 3/4 foam and it makes for a bulky side wall inside the cabin . Post a cabin pic and we will tell you rite away .

Crowney I will post the pic you just sent me but yes that is a cored boat . When you look at the hull under where the deck and hull are bonded together just below the screws that hump is the coring . That was nice of them to piece it together like a puzzle so you have visible seams to look at also . When you've seen both cored and none cored boats in person you can actually bang on the side of the boat and hear the difference . In the end unless your racing you really don't need coring . i contacted the broker about the Superboat depicted above. Brokers comments included.....

"This is an amazing and flawless boat" and "38 original hours".

Don't know if anyone is interested in the boat but if the comments are accurate, it sounds like a super boat!

I didn't ask. There's a few things that don't seem right and I'd probably be wasting the brokers time to push for lots more answers at the moment. It's a cored hull with no cabin fit out, race numbers, race canopy and it's done 38 hours in 11 years on a 496 and does 84mph! Mmm? It does have the rear lounge under the removable canopy.

If I was to guess, and I could be waaay wrong here, it may have been repowered and raced, then the original 496 dropped back in. hence the low hours. The brief email would suggest this is not the case and the whole rig has done 38 hours but it could be clumsy (or careful) wording. The wording "amazing and flawless boat" came direct from the broker but as you suggest, he may be paraphrasing what the owner has told him.

If it really is the genuine original setup and totally without flaws, the asking price sounds sensible. I think someone needs to have a look at this boat to confirm the details.

I thought all the 30's had cored sides. The difference is the race layup vs. the standard layup. The race layup is lighter, yet stronger glass. The 24's do not have cored sides. As mentioned you can easily tell when you bang on the side of the boat. The lack of coring in the 24 bothered me a little at first, but I ran the hell out of my 24 for 10 yrs. and it didn't have a single stress crack on it.

As far as the boat you are talking about. I say it will run in the low 70's with a 496HO. The Y2K I just sold ran around 78 with a 525efi.
