Default 18' powerplay hull expectations..

I want to hear from anyone who has talked to someone or has owned a 18.5' powerplay XLT with a SBC-alpha and what kinda of power they had and speeds they were reaching. I am wondering what this hull is capable of. I am running 70.1 mph now and shooting for around 78-80 by spring

I am off to bed, working these 60 hr weeks to pay for parts is wearing me down.

thanks bros

Travis

original p/p had a big block/ surface drive combo, my friend knew the guy who started p/p. that boat did 85 + no problem. good hull up until 90.

There was a guy running one in Holland for a while called "White Knuckles" that had a really built small block (stroked and bored to about 550 hp). Rips Racing in Holland did the motor (same guy who did my heads). It would run 80+ until it got over about 1.5-2" chop. And boat wakes from the side were a nightmare (not enough hull to handle them well). Should have seen him cross my wake at 80 mph one afternoon. Thought for sure I'd be fishing him out of the lake. Got about 4' of air. Well, o.k.....maybe more like 2-3 but it was way up there!!!! But in a straight line with good water that thing flew!! Ate alphas too!!!!

Default Congrats!!

A friend of mine used to have one with a stock 350 mag. and i didn't really get 50-55 maybe.I am impressed with 73 already ,you must have quite a motor to do what you are doin' and hitting 80 with that would be a FUN ride!!CONGRATS

Looked at one for sale about two months ago, hullsides were incredibly hard, like they were made out of concrete, seemed like a very well made boat and they were the first powerquest's...Matt
