I pulled mine off the intake to clean the first time after buying. If careful you can reuse the gaskets. Clean toothbrush, rags and lacquer thinner or the like clean it up real nice. I would also replace the IAC muffler inside the Tb if equipped. It should be clean white foam material. If dark colored, replace. It filters air going to your
IAC valve. 496 IAC valves are problematic enough, a missing or dirty muffler only helps them die sooner. Once clean, every season clean bore and plate with clean rag and lacquer thinner. Replace or clean muffler material as needed.
