Default 572 e85 and tbs 250 blowers

I have 572 na's with 9.6 static compression, and aluminum heads. I want to build e85 blower motors but have limited hatch space (already have blower scoops). In a perfect world these 572's would be matched very well with 10-71's and maybe inner coolers. The reason for this is turning a small blower faster creates heat, robs horsepower, and encourages detonation. But if I ran tbs 250 billet blowers with e85 I think this could be a decent combination. E85 drastically cools the intake charge (IAT), and the fuel itself is extremely resistant to detonation. After a hard run the intake and blower case will be cold to the touch, and actually form condensation on the outside. I realize I will have to spin the blower faster but I am only looking for 4-6 pounds of boost, but I think the e85 will compensate for the added heat of spinning faster. Please use an open mind and think about the principals I have just spelled out before just spewing out a knee jerk response of 250ci blower is way to small for a 572. Thoughts???

I would use a Procharger if limited by the hatch.

Tall deck's in a 28 daytona eliminator, no room to build out as I am right up against the side of the hull as it is.

E85 is great stuff for boosted engines, we race a LSX turbo on it, 25+psi with no IC, so the stuff works. Making 1200hp on 370ci and can street drive as well, you are going to have to work those blowers a bit but at that boost and with E85 should be doable, you will want to tune with a 02 for sure and remember you have to move and burn 40% more fuel, so fuel system needs to be set up for twice the expected HP on gas..also water/meth injection may help as well, I tried it on my procharged setup on the checkmate with only 5-6psi and it did not like it. Good luck ! Rob

A whipple with the rear inlet would be the ticket if you can afford it. Fuel injected.

Yes, whipples would work great but are out of my price range. Okay guys who else has an educated opinion on this idea?

Sounds like a great application for a Procharger

Why do you want to run a fuel that is A. Not very compatible with the marine environment and B, Has increased consumption of a fuel not readily available at the gas dock? I get you can make power with it but are the trade offs worth it?

Thinking about the principles here... You dunk the boat for the weekend, make a good run for 2 hours. Your friends are now tied up ready to get a late lunch, but you have to pull the boat (hopefully your back where you launched for lunch) drag it around untill you find a gas station that has E85, fill it up, take it back to the launch, dunk it and then find your friends again.... Or say you want to do a poker run like boyne thunder. You do the first half of the run balls to the wall. you get to the lunch stop, everybody goes to eat, you have to meet whoever you got to drive your truck and trailer from Boyne to Char, pull the boat, drag it to a gas station, fill it up drag it back, launch it, cruise over to the Char docks to find everybody has already left the lunch stop and are halfway to bay harbor, meanwhile your hungry, wishing you had bought those 2 4 hour old hotdogs at the gas station....

Not trying to rain on your parade...just some things to think about....

Would you run dual carbs? I think it could work, not an expert by any means.

Why not just get crazy with compression ratio and leave the blowers off?
