Default anyone on the board work for mercury evinrude or another ob manufacturer, warrranty q

How come in colombia the max warranty is a measly one year with no extended warranty option on big outboards?

In the states merc gives 3 yrs and you can buy another 4... wtf

i tried to buy some big verados from marc at bam, he talked to the merc rep and they told me no...

i would have taken them to the merc dealer in cartagena to remove my rudes and install them as they said an expert needs to do it cuz its so complex...

i wouldnt let most boat mechanics here change my oil lol...

If you saw the crappy rigging jobs done by the morons dow here on big dollar motors we pay a 60% tax over the states price... then have the village idiot rig them...

I reeaally wanted some of those verados on the back of my 32 cc... but merc decided they dont need thjs gringo to buy any black motors...

Not new any way, im hoping to find a used set of low hour 300s or 350s when a baller steps up to some 400s... i may end up with a warranty after all...

Pls explain why people down here get bent over a bench on the warranty period?

My senco nail gun was the same deal... it was 360 bucks online in the states 5 year warranty, it was 900 bucks here one year warranty. It had a minor problem at 14 months, i took it to the local senco dealer explained i bought it in the states with a 5 year warranty... he told me they wouldnt fix it under warranty in colombia as the warranty was only 1 year.
9 oclock that night i emailed senco... the local rep called me at 8 am said he would fix it for free and proceeded to kiss my azz for 10 mins lol...

I might just run my 32 to panama and buy the engines duty free there, hang out a few days while my guy here gets me the colombian registration before i come back... its a pita as but will save me a bunch of coin... i will try to find out if panama gets the hoser warranty or the pride in your product usa warranty... im trying to buy american but merc isnt as patriotic as i am evidently... was up wit dat mr. mercury rep?

You're so patriotic that you moved to another country

I guess that's the trade off for having all those cheap women

If they all get rigged by morons then maybe merc is trying to protect themselves from excessive warranty claims due to related issues.

Griff ive always tried to buy american made stuff whenever possible my entire life. Ive got 60k worth of rockwell delta, snap on, rigid, dewalt etc etc all american made toolz, both of my hotrods have big block chevys in em all american made stuff, american made tires, i still love the usa bro...

Its way more than cheap women griff, the usa has turned into such a police state that ive had enough of the bs.... look at all the constant new laws passed in the usa every year by our scumbag lawmakers... most are made to extract coin from your wallet to fund our bloated government... you give up more personal freedoms everyday... government spying on you... big brother is here bro.

how about homeland security going to the marina where the 32cc i bought was located as soon as i bought it from spying on my emails... f that noise nsa is so far up americans azzes it pathetic....

Noise laws, speed laws, tax laws, whens the last time your taxes went down?

The other day i saw a guy going off arguing with a traffic cop on the side of the road, all i could think was dayum if that dude did that in the states he would have been tazered and arrested..

Our bloated government is flushing the country down the toilet, and the lawyers are redistributing everyones wealth, look at what you pay for home owners, car, boat, and health insurance etc etc etc, if youre a busniess owner what are you paying out for workmans comp etc etc etc we as a country have lost our competitive edge, 47% of the country on government assistance... if hillary or bernie are elected, the country will never recover...

Just think another 20 million on welfare, another 20 million democrat voters, another 10 trillion in debt.... you are living in the next venezuela but just dont know it yet..

hell im from baltimore look what a cesspool our beloved democrats have turned my birthplace into... its a warzone... the welfare state owns that city now...but yeah i still try to buy american made when ever possible... but i will probably end up with a pair of suzuki 300s on the back of my 32cc... the other black motors... peace out...rm

I see severl people with brand new etecs on their boats down here... there is a new merc dealer in cartagena, and i would be the only dude for a couple hundred kms down here flying the mercury banner! Ive never seen a merc powered boat here period!

there are so many tourism boats here in tolu, which is where all the working boats run out of to my island, these boats run 365 days a year new motors are bought ever 3 or 4 years... not a mercury in a one of them... 58% yamaha and 39% suzuki...3% evinrude thanks to me lol, and 0% mercury... way to go merc...

There are very few pleasure boater here in colombia as most people dont have that type of disposable income, but rest assured merc wont be cornering the market here in the next 20 years unless they give those black motors away... when i buy my 21 it will probably have a merc 300 on it... i think i will paint the eng cowling to hide the engine manufacturer on what will be the coolest fastest boat in town... why should i help merc promote their stuff in any shape or form? Rm

I've got suzukis. Everyone loves them, the rep is quite good. I would rather have verados. But no one comes close to the value of the suzukis for the quality you're getting.

When i sell my property here i will fly up to panama and see whats available and what the warranty is on new engines there. Here in colombia yamahas seem to hold up very well but there is only one importer for the country so they jamb everyone on price, suzuki is about 25% cheaper hp for hp...

I hear good stuff about the etecs too... but will probably go 4t, but i would prefer the verados...350s

4t? The 300 zukes can be had for less than $17k ea. I've heard the warranty isn't quite as good as some others, but rarely needed. Yamaha 250s and 300s are good, a little more coin. All later verados have a good reputation. Avoid Yamaha 225s and 350s. Avoid early suzuki 4s 250s.
