Default Mix Interlux Bilge Coat White w/ Rustoleum White?

Has anyone done this? I refinished a floor in the engine compartment that had a bunch of screw holes from over the years. Painted it Rustoleum white with some hardner. It's too white. I used the Interlux Bilge Coat in the past, and it's too yellow. I need something in between and was thinking about mixing the two to get the color I need? Anyone tried this before?

sounds like an experiment you need to try and see what happens.of course, outside the boat and in a small amount.report back what happens.

Ok, i'll get some almond paint and mix a bit in. I'll feel better about that than mixing with the Interlux.

I painted it last night, 10pm. Was about 65 in my shop. I mixed in 2 oz of the hardner with 1 qt of the white. This morning was 55 in the shop and stuff was still wet. It's supposed to be up to 72 today so I have the door cracked. Hopefully this stuff dries. I was expecting the hardner to make it dry even at 60 degrees. I wanted to put on another coat tonight, but if this stuff is still tacky, may not be able to......... arg.

Did you mix it well, put enough in and let it sit for 20 minutes before using it?
I also use 4 parts white to 1 part almond to get that "right" bilge color.

Mixed it well yes. I don't see the point in letting it set for 20 minutes unless a guy wants it to go on thicker. Shouldn't effect dry time??

Put a fan in there to move the air around. With thin coats of resin that don't like to kick this really helps.

I have a question- The hardener that you mix in the paint; is it the same as the hardener used to mix up epoxy resin?

I was told you let it sit for 20 minutes so it can react or "kick off" before painting with it. You really need to do that. Also if you put a sealed lid on it wont harden up in the container for hours if not for a day. It has to off gas to harden and is why a fan is a good suggestion to help drying.
And just a FYI, don't spray paint mixed with the hardener. There's chance it may kill you without the proper fresh air gear.
