Mercury max5 prop

This is a cut down Maximus to 15" diameter. It has a reduced blade area designed for lightweight hulls running big OB's.
Specifically the X-Cat series boats with 400's in Europe.

DCB has tried some on our DCB with 400s. Feedback to me, Hooked up nice and felt great at all speeds. Still need to try some various pitch/size and tweaking to do and definitely missing some performance #s(6-8 mph) vs the Merc Cleavers...but they aren't 10K like the cleavers are.

One issue this prop is having is the high rake angle creates bow lift.
With the 400R's on the back, less bow lift is needed.

Hi!
How is the bow lift and the possibility to run high compared to REV4, 4bl Turbo TXP and 4bl Blaster?
I have bought a 400R and need to run the gearcase much higher than the 350 sci HD version.

There is bow lift in these props due to rake and heavy OB's on the back with CG rearward hulls. If you require extra bow lift/stern leverage from your prop, this might not be a good option. For boats with some natural bow lift it will be fine.

Thanks!
Hayabusa is running a Checkmate 2400 BRX with a 400R. The best results for him has been with a Blaster 25 running 83,5 mph. I am not sure if I can compare my Phantom 25 with his 2400 BRX. My best speed with a Verado 350 Sci has been 81 mph +/- at 6,550 rpms with a REV4 25 which is shortened 30 mm and cupped. However it do not like so much to be run high.
If I should test out a Blaster should I try 26 inch prop?
Happy New Year!

The Maximus props are advertised/marketed at 30 degrees. However, with the decrease in diameter and with the slight deviations advertising can have, we would need to actually MRI the Max 5 to know the truth.
So, yes there is higher rake in the Max than the B! but the overall geometry of the B1 is more conducive to bow lift.
