Our local lake is pretty shallow in spots, as a preventative measure I'm going to pick up a spare prop for my 271 and put the labbed unit (B1/30P/LH) on the shelf for when we visit deeper places to boat.
Power is a Crockett built 540 making ~640hp. Currently boat runs a solid 78-79 at ~5,000rpm. Chine walk is a minor issue above 74-5mph.
I would like to improve the planing of the boat if possible, currently I throttle it to about 2500 (1/3-1/2 throttle) rpm and wait for what seems like an eternity for it to nose over around 20mph.
Torn between another 28-30p Bravo 1 and a Hydromotive Quad IV.
Anybody have any experience with either of these in one of these hulls?

I tell you the one thing that made a huge difference on my 271 was switching the trim limiter piece from the front to the back. It allows the drive to tuck further in when trimmed down and get on plane faster.
