Saw this on the news this morning. Looks like the police are looking for the operators of the two speedboats that were racing. The article says one of the boats was red and white and one was blue and white.

Woods hole in its self is a washing machine. The wake was the least of there issue. 18ft boat you better pick your days and times. It's sh!tty to say the least out there. As Mr.V8 said the size of the wake could not be large at speed.

We had a retired doctor speak at our (NH) speed limit hearings that said on record that a cigarette type boat passed him near 80mph and spun his 30ft sailboat around 180*, minor injuring his grand kids that where in the cabin.
Made me puke in my mouth that not only did he completely lie, but the state officials gasped in awe and by their comments, totally believe it.
Very upsetting day for me in regards to how 'stand up' citizens and our government can work to get what they want.

But I have seen many videos of people coming stupid close to boats at very hi speeds.
Small wake or not because of speed , when you blow by a small boat 5 feet off his quarter at 80 plus it is going to cause some immediate unprepared commotion.

I don't disagree with any comments above but this lady and her friend that got hurt are getting the air time and they are believing everything she said. Posted it more as a watch out if anyone on here was out in the area during the incident.

Unfortunately powerboaters are going to have to start providing PROOF against headline grabbing accusations.....and I have a thought.
I W2W race on road courses and contact is inevitable. Most of the time it's very minor and in my class specifically, we don't really care. However other class cars are on track with us and they DO care. Everyone is greatly encouraged to run in-car video so that it can be reviewed after the fact if necessary. I record video everytime I'm on track and if there is nothing of significance recorded I simply delete the file and keep using the memory card.
Why can't boaters use the same process? I have a Replay XD that is the size of a roll of quarters and cost about $250-300. A buddy with a Go-Pro bought one of these and swears this thing provides better video and slightly easier to use. Mine is "suction cupped" to the roof of my car and I'm pulling nearly 2G's and hitting 140mph on every lap. Surely it would stick to the bow of most people boats, right?
As a bonus, we occasionally get some really cool footage!!!
