Default A trick I did with carbon fiber

I'm in the process of doing a few things to my new to me Spectre and since I've got the drives off ( they are X-Power dry sumps) I wanted to do something with the carbon fiber covers. My boat has a really nice blue in the paint scheme and I wanted to carry that into the drives but didn't want to give up the carbon by painting them a solid tone, instead I wet sanded them, mixed some clear and tinted it with a bit of Chrysler blue streak pear, next I'll sand again, re-clear then wet sand and buff. I had posted these on my FB page and a lot of people seemed to like it and asked about the process so I decided to share it here as well

You can also get the same effect with using Kandy paint over the carbon then clear it. We do alot of that type of stuff in our shop on dragster parts since alot of the new parts are carbon. The worst part is the pin holes that come up once you sand the carbon but it just ends up being a lot of sanding and reclearing to get it smooth
