Thumbs up Speed Testing Scenarios

I bought myself a GPS unit over the weekend. Since my wife is at a bachelorette party on Saturday, I thought I would head out and do some performance testing. I need some ideas from the Baja brothers about different scenarios.

Since we boat on the river with a measurable current, how do I accurately test my speed? I was told that I should make two runs for every scenario. Take the max speed down river, the max speed up river, and then average the two speeds. Does this sound right?

So, here are some of the scenarios I was thinking for the 29' Outlaw with 454 Mags turning three blade 25 Mirage Plus labbed up to 26:

1. Baseline speed with props turning outward
2. Props turning outward and flame arrestors removed
3. Props turning inward with flame arrestors attached
4. Props turning inward with flame arrestors removed

Anything else I should try?

Yep one up and one down and average them.

You better watch out Thirsty turtle was GPSing the new 502' s in the Pantera last weekend. He's very close to 75 and still has allot to go once he finds the right props. I think he need some 26's.

Let us know how it goes. Better yet just come down and do it in our pool so I can watch.

What up dog?! Where da heck you been bro?! We haven't been out boating in 5 weeks. We've been at a couple of weddings, a couple of family deals, and everything else BUT boating. Have you been out much? When we going to make a run to Lake City and check out the fall colors?

Advantage,
TT is hauling some serious butt with these new motors.

There is a 292 Fastech Formula at our harbor to with 6.2's. He is trading it in this fall for a new 292 Fastech with 377 scorpions. Man I tell you there is gonna be some wikid speed coming out of our harbor next year.

You gonna make the Rat Run next spring????

Advantage,
One more thing. You gotta be careful with those GPS's somehow they seem to slow down the boat.

A couple of guys GPS a H2X last weekend. speedo read 74 GPS just shy of 69.

What the hell are you up to now? are blowers on a new boat going to happen? 30, 33, 36? If you are going to sell you should let us know, we have a guy that is looking at going bigger, and likes the 29 outlaw! Later
