I have the same motor, says 5000, thats why your
hitting the rev, I was spinning 5200 the other day
and didnt hit it ? Usually 68 on gaffrig speedo with
26 bravo 4 blade, what drive? I have a new 25 ballistic
3 blade I cant use because of xz, larger shaft.

Have the same boat, a 94 272 with a 502mpi. Started with a 23 mirage and was able to attain 66 mph at 5100-5200rpm. Went through the prop testing through a mercury demo shop. Tried all pitches and 3 and 4 blade props. The best for me was the 24" 4 blade. I gained 2 mph and lowered my RPM to 4800-4900. The 4 blade is 10 times better out of the hole and is much more efficient at around 40 - 50 mph. I tried a 26" four blade but was only able to get to 65 mph and 4500 rpm.
The 4 blade will bite pretty hard and you may have to muscle the boat a little especially at top end, however you may like it!!
