I've been following the production of Fountains and Donzi lately. Them seem to be kicking Ass and building lots of boats. Are they outpacing the other builders?? Is the sport boat market picking up? I don't see the other manufacturers building as many as I see coming out of Iconic these days.

First off, I love Donzi, its boats, the legacy, and I love to hate Fountain and Baja.... JK. Love to see big names back out there.
However, I am very concerned about all the production I am seeing. I am afraid they are pumping out spec boats to push inventory in order to make the bank people happy. This is what killed them in 2008.
I hope that is not the case and that they actually have a lot of these boats sold or will be able to sell them at the upcoming shows.

Being a Fountain junkie myself, I love to see them doing well. Having said that, they just turned out a 38 Lightning with 565's that is going for north of $400K. Be curious to see when that one sells.

For a new boat 38' 565's 400k seems pretty fair to me. Heck pontoons are 100k

We are selling 10ft wide pontoons with twin Yamaha 350s north of $150k. The difference is you can take twelve people with you and still run 55 mph. They were searching for a dealer in my area, but when you consider pontoon sales are up 30% its hard to tie your money in a segment that is not growing very much in a decent economy. Trust me, I would like nothing more than to see the truck dropping some offshore inventory on my lot.

It all goes in stages... At somepoint the pontoon bubble will burst also and there will be a million of them for sale for cheap. Yes you can go 55 mph in flat or slightly choppy water but anything more and they are not safe. Ive seen my share of tri toons bent up from hitting waves with people going to fast.
The new craze of center counsels will probably last for a while now also but they to are getting extremely expensive and fast for what they were intended and designed for.
