Can a set of imco rams be shortened

I'm looking at a used set of IMCO rams that are about 2 inches too long. The stroke is correct. 8", but the over rod length is too long. The body length is ok.

Imco makes rams in different lengths with different amounts of travel. Also they have different back caps for the drive.

You could always have a set of brackets made to mount of the transom and make the Rams work. We do it all the time. If you spin the boat out hard enough with the wings on the box the drive gets ripped off and the boat sinks.
