Default Boat wont plain out please help

Ok I am posting this up for my brother.

The boat is an 01 donzi 33 zx with 496's

He just got the boat this summer went and water tested it and the boat had no problems getting up on plain. He looked everything over and when he was there the props on the boat where brovo 1 28 four blades. Then he had the surveyed and during the water test there was no issues. He went a week or so later to pic it up and bring it home so a total of about 3 or 4 weeks between going there and and riding on the boat and then bring it back. We drop it in the water and the boat just stands up and spins not wanting to get on plain. I looks at the props aND noticed that the blades where really thined down. I am wondering if they switched the props out befor he piced it up and kept the good ones. Could over worked props that where not done for this boat cause this.

Thanks

Yes. Incorrect props will cause it. If it was 28 bravos then look and see what's on it now. If it's the same then something is going on.

They where and still are 28s. I have the 500efi's and are also turning 28s. I was able to get his up on plain but tool a lot of work. Feels like the props are just cavitating and spinning and not biting

Have you confirmed by eye, ignoring the indicators for a test, that drives are fully tucked and tabs are all the way down?

Probably a stupid question, but was your bilge full of water, or was there an excessive amount of weight in the stern?

Did you try moving the beer cooler to the bow?

I am wondering if the props that they may have thrown on their where for a lighter boat with more horsepower or a straight bottom. We are going to switch my props for his to see if it makes a difference but that's in the spring. He is doing the normal plugs, wires and the normal every thing else like filters and fluids. But was talking about pulling injectors to have them cleaned and rebuilt. I just don't know if he sould do that over the winter befor trying something as simple as trying my 28s. That is free lol but this is just going to drive me crazy and it's not even my boat...lol

Just seams odd to go from running strong to not at all lie that. Props seam like a quick thing for them to swap out to keep or sell that could throw it off that fast. I'm not for shure if it could that's why I'm asking. Not saying they did for shure but it could be possible
