I switched mine over 2 yrs. ago for 300.00 on 2 axles and have had no trouble.www.kodiaktrailers.com
They stop great and you can buy replacement pads at auto zone.

I converted mine from single axle drums (for some stupid reason) to single axle discs
and it didn't stop as good). Last spring I added discs to the other axle...WOW
them suckers DO stop!
I have about 7500lbs behind a Tahoe and it stops like its not there.

Dyno, I just switched my 32' trailer over from surge drum brakes to surge disc with stainless rotors. They came from Northern Tool Co. Approx. $110 each wheel. They come with hubs and bearings, etc. A great kit considering that my bearings needed to be replaced anyway. The only thing you have to do when switching is punch a hole through the diaphram in the rear of the master cylinder(this info is in the kit). I have had no problems with mine since replacing. P.S. Had to add a lockout reverse solenoid at the master cylinder to allow you to back up @ approx $45

I think so,I always had trouble with the linings coming of the shoes and a trailer that is pulled alot is as bad as one that sits because the linings will still rust at the rivets and the shoes.Disc are probably 90% decrease in maintaince.Just my .02

rebuild stock brakes every 2 years/used or not!
vs no rebuilds in ? years for disks?
It's a no brainer for me, I hate doing brake cylinders and shoes, not to mention the time and bother to do it.
Do the discs....you will never regret it and resale will be higher also.
