Default Looking for ideas on exhaust

Looking to see what others did that worked well.

Restoring a 1993 Profile 33' with twin stock 502's. In the past the boat had twin 454's and I put headers in. Both motors blew from hydro locking. Tried new motors and rework instillation of headers, both motors went again.

But before motors went the boat picked up a LOT of acceleration, and rode far further out of the water. I am assuming the weight of the factory exhaust was the culprit.

So I am gun shy of headers, but really like getting the weight out of the engine compartment.

Anyone got suggestions I can start looking into? Thanks!

Not the prettiest out there, but Diamond Performance cast aluminum Thunder-N-Lightning headers work great and are very durable.
