the old 6.0 is done. second time for a leaking head gasket. No more fords for me! Looking to get a dodge 2500 4x4. Now do I get the Cummings or the 6.4 hemi. I don't pull every day and the dealer keeps saying get the gasser. It's 5000 less and no $200 fuel filters, $120 oil changes, no DEF, less to fill a s over all just less to use every day. Only have one Issue is pulling the Bullet. What's y'all a thoughts.

I have both. Get the 6.4Hemi. It tows great just the revs are higher. I get 16.5 mpg cruising at 80mph. I get 14.5 at 65mph. With a 1000 mile average of 16 most of the time. The best my diesel gets is 13.

To be fair why not look at all 3 brands? All 3 have a gasser that is dependable and less expensive to run than their diesel sibling. To compare an old 6.0 Diesel Ford that was riddled with problems from the beginning to a new Ford is apples to oranges.

2013 ram 2500 4x4 megacab with the cummins.
80,000 miles and all kinds of emissions issues related to the DEF system.
I am in the business. If anyone thinks that any car is going to last forever with no issues is nuts. So many emissions components that your chances for failure have increased 10 fold vs the 7.4 power stroke / 12 valve days.
That said you will wish you got the diesel. The power curve just cant be matched. She pulls like a rapped ape and not many weekends I dont have 10,000 plus pounds behind it with a boat or a camper.
The Ram is a great truck. Either way you will be happy. GET THE RAM BOX BED!

I will say this...I had 2 duramax trucks, a 05 and a 08 both were used, with decent miles, kept each for 5 years each, power to me was unreal(both had exhaust and tow tune) and the only thing that failed on either one was a couple of glow plugs...period !! have had friends with fords many many issues. My son recently bought a 04.5 dodge dually with a cummins(said he had to have one) very nice low mile truck, runs good, but no where near the power of the duramax's I had, he had to spend well over $500 on some fuel sensors and such a week after he got it, runs fine now, it to had exhaust and tow tune(which helped immensly) just my take on these things.
