Default 1970's Topaz - anyone know anything?

anyone know about these at all? Saw one that looks like a Donzi 18 type layout. Looked like a cool boat but I'd never heard of them.

Were they any good? Quality?

Topaz boats were built up the road in Owings Md, They were primarily sport fish with the smallest I;m aware of being the 24. I believe they were well built but I really don't know personally. How about a picture. I think they did start in 1970.

Thanks Jax - sent you a PM.

I might take a chance on this thing for 3k dollars - he says he has paperwork from recent engine rebuild and the boat looks pretty clean. Would be a cool ride for my kids this summer.

351s and other Ford motor options were often mated to King Cobra outdrives. VERY hard to get service done on those. If it's an I/O with that setup, pass unless you want to rerig with an outboard.

thanks Brian - Chevy 350 with Alpha is in it now. That's simple and cheap

4 hour drive and when I got down there there the guy had left the water hose attached and there was an igloo frozen solid in the drive and outside. I mean a huge ice block. Couldn't run it, I had no idea what else was frozen so I turned around and came hold. Unreal.....

All the more agitating because I had asked him to please run it before I got down there to ensure nothing had broken in this cold we've had lately.

Oh well - a shame because boat was solid and would have cleaned up good..
