Hi
would like some ideas for my 2001 382 Fastech with 900hp motors, Imco scx drives, no boxes. I run Maximus 32 out of box and spinning props out. Are now in the 90mph range and 60mph at cruise 3500rpm. But would like top end speed.
Any ideas or experience?
Thanks

Lets get real here the goal is to break 100mph. Sounds like you already have a pretty sweet setup, congrats! First option to always consider is selling and buying a faster boat. If you love yours and want to keep it then the best value per speed and reliability gain would be Arneson Asd7m drives (bravo conversion). Easily break 100mph and it comes with all new steering, trim, boxes, etc.
You could keep dumping money into your setup and get lucky dialing it in but most likely will end up spending more than the Arnesons.
Honestly where your at now there's not many little things nor inexpensive upgrades that will get your past 100mph so is it even worth messing with or just leave alone and enjoy

Mine runs low 90's with stock 700's, spinning out. I think the NXT's are probably some of the difference, but my propshaft centerline is quite high as well, which just makes getting on plane a little more tricky. Other than that, boat is rock solid at speed.

Yes 100mph is the target and as PROWRENCH says low 90s with 700sci and NXT i would think 100mph would be easy with 900hp. But i have a low x dimension, almost no cavitation when getting on plane, the boats jumps out of the water with no problems.
i would think my boat is propped wrong and would like some ideas to try before installing Arnessons😅

I have not gone as far as measuring, but by eyeballing it appears that my prop centerline is nearly identical to the hull surface. It was a learning curve for getting on plane, but a piece of cake now that I know what to do. Very rough seas is a bit more of a challenge though, especially with a full load. If I had 400 more hp, definitely 100. Or faster spinning in.
