Default USCG Boat Name/Hailing Port Location - 311

What's happening folks?! Hope everyone is staying warm! I know we're all looking forward to the new season!

The new season is close, and I need to redo the lettering on the back of the 311 to be legal with my USCG paperwork. Currently, the name and hailing port are listed on the silent thunder as shown in the below-attached pic. I want to change the format because the hailing port (changed to VA Beach VA) will not fit in the same space.

I've thought about moving "Beach Party" to just under the aft grab rail above the rub rail (not sure I have enough space), and VA BEACH VA on the silent thunder; I'm not sure I like that option. Can I have "Beach Party" displayed on the port and starboard hull-sides, mid-ship, with the hailing port just above the rub rail, or do the name and hailing port need to stay together?

How have others with SR1 292's, 311's, and 357's done this? I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!

They do not need to be together.

On my boat the name is on the front port and starboard side with the hailing port on the back. They have minimum size requirements for the name and on my boat there was no where that had enough room for it.

I get a COG safety inspection every year and this year also a "State" inspection, all passed.

With the size requirement, I don’t think it’ll fit.

I’ve seen a few 311s with the name on the side and the hailing port Just above the rub rail on the stern, but also saw state registrations so it was a little confusing.

How far up the front do you have the name? Any pics?

Hey buddy!

I am not too familiar with the requirements but I have the measurement from when I ordered the decals for Distant Thunder online. With the borders and everything, it ended up fitting perfectly on the space above the rub rail, let me know if you need them.

That would be good! We’ve been looking at pics of both boats; yours is well thought out and looks great!

I think we’re going to duplicate yours... maybe a little differing in the font.

Thanks Josh!

I'll get one after work.
