Default Best way to put a boat on its side (in a shop)

Going to do some bottom work and plan on flipping the boat over. Plan on using the front eyelet with a strap through it for the pivot in the front and some kind of contraption in the back. Will the eyelet suport the boat to flip it? Once it is on the side how do I support the hull?

Easy untie tie down straps on the trailer and make a hard right or left turn depending on what side of the boat you want to work on .

Flipping on its side needs some finesse. Get it about half way and weight shifts, then it goes and spins.

Would suggest a very tall lift of some sort. Connect to the bow ring and lift high to get bow up and sitting on the stern, then lower over on the top.

Not a easy task with out the right equipment. Do you have access to a crane or fork lifts? I just flipped my 21 foot boat in my shop but I have a crane and forklift. I will admit even with that I am shaking every time I do it. When you hear the fiberglass cracking from stress its a problem. Depending on your boat if its glassed together from the deck to the bottom you will be in better shape. What ever you do video tape it so we can all watch LOL

I will try to rember the video camera so every one can watch me screw it up lol. Have a couple of I beams on the ceiling to hook to. Was planning on using the front eye only for rotating but sounds like I need a couple more staps for controlling the rotation and not just for safety.
