Gen4 w/retro-fit roller questions

Fuel Pump Push rod.
What are you using? Bronze tipped? Roller? OEM?
Now the cam button. What timing cover is re-enforced for this?
This Milodon listed on Summit states there is a "re-enforced" cover for use with buttons, but they only make it for small blocks. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mil-65604/overview/
Milodon website confirms this. Milodon Timing Covers
Forgive the questions, But I've been building Fords for 35 years... They use eccentrics for fuel pumps and thrust plates to keep the cam in place.. :-)

No clue on the pump pushrod.. Went electric..
As far as the cam.. just use a GEN VI step nose core and cam retainer plate.. WAY easier than worrying about a cam button..
The holes are in the block for it...

The material of the cam will dictate what fuel pump rod you need, check with manufacturer. Also, you may need to change distributor gear as well.
Mine required both a brass tip pump rod and a new distributor gear. (Add ANOTHER $75 to an already incredibly expensive upgrade).
Good luck.

Is it a step nose cam where you can use the retainer plate? I used the button on my old cams and would watch my timing cover deflect and timing move a little. I then put an aluminum spacer between my crossover/water pump to stop the deflection. Later when I changed cams out to stepped nose cams I then used the retainer. The nylon button was wore pretty good. I'm going to use the retainers on my new MK IV builds, but it looks like I might need to open up the bolt holes on the retainer a little.

Don't have it yet, but if not I will be switching to one with the step.
Do all the BBC's have the bolt holes for the plate or did the early stuff not have them?
Edit:
Answered my own question. "Some" of the early stuff did and some did not.
Mine is drilled and tapped. So can use the gen 6 cam with trainer and also need to use the gen 6 timing chain set.
