Default Mercruiser Hydraulic steering onto Volvo Penta?

Hi Guys,

Just picked up a 75 Chris Craft Lancer 19. Sports a 383 and has "No Feedback" manual steering. Has a VP drive I think either 270/280, it's covered in a bad paint job so can't see any numbers.

I also got a parts boat. It's a 83 Four Winns Liberator 260hp with an Alpha drive with hydraulic steering.

Can I use this system other than needing a different transom mount? Would this mount be something I could buy someplace or would I need to fabricate one copying what's on the Lib? Or can the Merc mount be adapted to suit?

I know the engine mounted pump is fine to use as I took the alt/pwr steering bracket of the Lib.

Thanks.

Would I also need to install the helm and steering cable? Luckily the Liberator is a 201 (20') so length shouldn't be an issue.
