Default 1979 Pantera -

Hello all . . . now that pics can be easily uploaded on this site, thought I would share a few pics of my boat . . .
1979 Pantera 24 Sport.
Spent most of its life on Lake George and belonged to a fellow named Angelo.

I have owned it 8 years on Lake Norman. New transom, stringers and extra bulkheads a few years ago. Its a ton of fun.

Thanks!

Not sure of x dim but transom assembly is approx. 1-1/2" taller than my friends 1989 24 Sport.

Boat was originally TRS with transmission. Now Bravo 1 with low water p/u. 1.50-1.
Motor is 496ci. now. GM 427 Tall Deck 10.2” (Commercial truck 4 bolt main 7.0 liter) , Bore 4.310 - Stroke 4.250, H-Beam Rods 6.535 - Aluminum Heads - 2.3 IN/1.9EX - Harland Sharp Roller Rockers 1.7 - Comp Cams HYD Roller Lifters - Comp Cams HYD Roller Cam - Custom Grind (have card) - SRP Pistons, WEIND Team G High Rise Aluminum - Holley 850 Double Pump (more like a 900 now) - Gill Offshore exhaust DRY to tips. MSD 6al ignition. Huge fuel Water separator.

I run a 27P Quicksilver Mirage 3 blade (non plus)
and a 26P Power-Tech OFX-4 four blade that was made for the boat.
They added a tiny bit of cup. It is only 3 mph slower but does that at several hundred less rpm. Ill take the fuel savings. The 4 blade is better all around for sure. With the 3 blade its an 80mph boat GPS.

Yea thats built lol! When you have the boat out of the water next can you measure the bottom of your transom assembly to the pad?
What RPM are you spinning to get 80? 5500?

I just measured and it is 8-1/2" from bottom of transom assembly to pad right below drain plug.

80 @ 5800 with 3 blade
77 @ 5500 with 4 blade

With just me and a few gallons of fuel the speeds are 1 or 2 more mph.

Just wanted to clarify that the 8-1/2" was from the pad to bottom of transom assembly plate.
Not to the piece that holds the braided fluid lines.

Thank you. I'm curious where my boat sits compared to yours. I believe mine is 7.25" to the mercathode assembly.
I'll check it tonight.

There are multiple answers to that question.
Boat has 30" Dana 1100 trim tabs and full hydraulic steering to the helm. So no, it is a dream to drive and an absolute blast. But to answer your question seriously . . . it depends on water conditions and driver skill.
