The last day of last season I had a terrible rich running issue with my boat. This weekend I finally got it up and running again, and it took roughly 4 seconds to figure out the problem once I got it started. The back third of the (mechanical) fuel pump was shooting fuel out of it!! Real Bad!!
I took the fuel pump apart and it seems like I could get another gasket/diaphragm/rubber piece thingy to put in there. But, I'm not sure if there was an internal failure to the pump that caused it to rupture (i.e. high pressure fuel dead heading infernally where it's not supposed to be?
Are these pumps rebuildable? If they are, should I bother?
Thanks!

Wow. You guys are awesome!
LTZ: I don't need one for a few weeks. We wont' be having it out until the week of 4th of July. I could buy that one off of you, but, won't you need it again? or are you going full electric?

Used that exact pump on my 575 SCIs - just swapped fittings from my old pump - this is just a lift pump to supply the cool fuel. 575 SCI and 525 efi use the same lift pump. Just replaced one on my current 525s with this p/n.

[ UOTE=SB;4532260]Airtex 60932 fuel pumps for the sea water mount are just $55.88 thru Amazon: Link: http://a.co/9FlecL7
Many people believe this is whom makes it for Mercruiser.
Airtex Fuel Pumps » » Single Product

You could then also get the pumps mentioned above to swap the lowers.
Just a thought.
Edit in: most parts places sell Airtex stuff also...therefore Amazon isn't the only place...I just used it for reference.
Also, I have not done this....just relaying info I've studied. When I did the bottom swap years ago, the Aitex pump was not available outside of Mercruiser.[/QUOTE]

Thanks so much for doing all that, I'll certainly reference it!
