Hey guys I have a 2003 525 and the alarm is going off. The boat starts fine and Idles great but as soon as I put it in gear then throttle up a bit the alarm goes off. It will then shut off and I can usually rev to either 3000rpm or 4000rpm. It will act like I'm hitting the rev limiter at either of those RPMs . I don't have the service book so I'm pretty much stuck and my dealer is absolutely horrible. Codes are 120 122 123 fault 9 and fault 19 overspeed
thanks everyone

Try this, the info should be buried in there somewhere. http://www.ibs-ny.com/freedom/Engine...e%20Manual.pdf Rinda scan tool will tell you also. If you don't have one and own a 525EFI, get one it will save you time, $, and aggravation.

the overspeed is caused by guardian fault 9 and the guardian is caused by TPS issues. all 3 codes are TPS related
Now have to ask why is taking a boat in to the dealer a bad experience in your words horrible ? In my cause I sure would nt want my customers thinking that ? Plus at least they know ---- I know what I am doing and have been trained on this stuff.inside and out - up and down to no end.

Hey guys the problem was a defective TPS sensor. I purchased a new AC DELCO one and it seemed to have solved the problem. When i was installing the engine the hook bent over and hit the factory one. I purchased an aftermarket one from the local parts store and it was bad. I did have one fault code of 124 no adapt but it seemed to run well.

Man I should do this for a living, guessed right again - Post number 4.
so you changed the tps ( R & R) with battery power on ? Or the last one was totally bad or you unplugged it the TPS while the engine was running ?
