I didn't run it last year, but they had a good turnout and the stops are all good places. The long run is a good haul but well worth it, btw I was wondering how your trip over the holiday weekend was? Also what kind of boat do you have, so I can keep an eye out for you?

We did the run last year not sure I ever heard an official boat count if I had to guess I would say 35-40 boats based on the lunch attendance. There is a long run & short run and no official time so you just find a group to run with and take off the long run does have a lunch stop as the last point so depending on speed you leave in order to get the lunch spot roughly 35 miles down the lake. Typical first year speed bumps some of the card stops were unorganized very tight quarters for maneuvering boats, card attendants didn't know where to stand and would try to get out of the way on the docks which meant a point difficult for drivers to reach (Kenlake Marina & the stop near Big Bear Marina) Breakers Marina for lunch was over whelmed and service was extremely slow unless you were one of the first to arrive. Hopefully the are better prepared this year and offer a limited poker run menu and have food ready to go. Seems like there was a raft up last year after lunch but I don't recall anything organized. Hu B's as the host marina did a good job plenty of dock space and they have all new docks this season good place to finish the day with food, drinks and live music.

Thanks guys, I had a great time on Memorial weekend, such a nice area and the boat behaved flawless for just completing a 3 year redo on her.
I made it to several marinas both by water and land yacht to get the lay of the land. Made the quarry and Davenport for a brief visit got the route between lakes down pat, rain and shine..
I am thinking on going the short run as I develop confidence in the boat and also to learn of the marinas and safe passages on Barkley. Suggestions always welcome.
Jim I have a Red 1986 Formula 242SS. Be sure to stop me and say HI.

More details here, as well as event post.

There should be many more boats at the run this year, as there were two poker runs in KY on same weekend last year.
We're looking forward to it. There are many powerboaters who haven't been to KY/Barkley Lakes in years due to no poker run.
