Default Trim TAB Question

A generic question... when the tabs are full up should they be even or tilted up from the hull running surface. And how far should the tilt up be?

thanks

They should be tilted up from the running surface.
How much, depends on the tab and the transom angle but I'd say a good 10-15 degrees. If you have tab gauges, most people adjust the gauges to read '0' when the tabs are aligned with the bottom of the hull (horizontal).

When you buy tabs to install yourself the instructions will generally say that you have to run a straight edge off of the hull bottom to the end of the tab . At that point the end of the tab should fall X amount of inches above the straight edge when fully retracted . I believe it's something like a minimum of 1.75 - 2"
