Default W/F code

Looking for some help with a fault code on my 496.
I am receiving a WF code and the alarm beeps for short periods of time and not sure what it could be.
All gauge readings are correct and water pressure seems strong.
Does anyone know what this code is. ?
Thanks
Joe T.

This same thread gets posted several times a month.
It's impossible to know without a Smartcraft Gauge or hooking it up to a scanner (like a www.rinda,com Techmate, Diacom SW, or similar).

If you own a 496HO, 525EFI, or any of these 2002 or later completely electronic Mercury motors, a scanner is one of the BEST investments you can make. It may be a $40 sensor, but waiting for 4 weeks to get into your mechanic to find out, kind of sucks in the middle of the summer season.

and where is this WF code reporting ? on your gauges or scan tool ?

Engine serial umber and more info is needed - do you have DTS ? or mechanical throttle and shift ? what year is this? Is your app 100 percent OEM stock ?

The WF code is blinking on the bottom of my Livorsi tachometer. The serial number is OW618184 and has been upgraded with the Raylar heads, cam and throttle body.
And the computer has been moified for the Ralar kit. Not sure on the DTS. I believe the engine year is 2006

I'm sorry but I thought I answered correctly. I didn't know what the WF meant and so I thought I would find someone who might have had the same in the past. The code flashes and I get a alarm beep as well. Its not constant and it comes and goes. Im glad to get on the phone if you think it would help, and everyone's time is greatly appreciated.

Skip my POST PLEASE WE both were writing at the same time so I had no idea you answered while I was typing. MY BAD TOTALLY.

THANKS FOR THE INFO.

A side note see I stay on top of the 496's and even have some parts made for them. Im kind of the the dude that at some point and time gets everyone 496 to either work on or help with over the phone. With that said I stay on top with the 496's. Long story as well.
