Default fountain cavitation problem

97 27' Fountain high x dimension. boat is new to me mild 500hp bb using a stock 3 blade 25p mirage plus. hard to get on plane, under 45 mph it has a tendency to cavitate.
over 45 performs great. any suggestions. It does need more pitch. have to get new prop anyway.

step up the number of blades OR try moving the cooler back 6 inches.

I can't remember - does the 97 have step or not?? My old 2000 27' ran best with a 24* Bravo I.

I have a buddy with a 93 27 fountain with a 502 MPI and we tried a 25 mirage, 24 bravo, 25 revolution, a 26 hydromotive and a few other misc props and the 25 revolution was the best but his boat you cant really trim for some reason as it starts to porpoise badly and it ran 65 mph at 4900.

We have some new 4-SPEED OB/FX props in 15.25 diameter that would work well.
