Both of my tachs do not work on my boat. I have checked for power with new tachs and they do not work either. Anyone know what wire is the for the tach that comes off the motor? 1999 Powerquest 290 Enticer fx if it matters. Thanks

if its a carb motor then you should be able to follow a gray wire from the coil..to the main harness plug...then it goes to the dash where it connects to the tach.
If its an EFI engine then the ECM will give the output signal and it "should" be a gray with white tracer wire...i believe
it would be strange for both not to work...i'd look for connections under the dash...maybe a bad ground wire the tachs are connected to.

I agree with all said above. Grey wire to back of tach to 'sender' post.
White wire coming from coil going to harness (not to distributor) is where tach wire starts and then ends as

It could also be in the large connector with all the brass pins. I lost oil pressure once and thought my motor was doomed. Turned out it was a bad connection in that connector. Scared me so I put an analog gauge in the build just to be sure.
