Default Sunsation Website

What is up with trying to get information from the Sunsation Website? I like to keep up on the latest from boat builders and know that Sunsation is working on a 38 footer. It appears they are getting very close to release and I wanted to get some info on the boat (more than is available on the website). So I filled out all the information on the request for information section of the website and submitted it. All I wanted was information. I even indicated I was not interested in purchasing a boat. I also indicated I owned a 2002 Active Thunder AVH.

This evening my wife got a call from Gran Sprot Center (GSC). A large Baja and Sonic dealer in the Chicago Land area. The individual indicated I had requested information on a Sonic . What is up with that. I was intersted in Sunsation's 38.

Well, to make the story even better, we had talked with GSC in 2001 about a 386. We got a quote from them (GSC) for a fully loaded Sonic (genset, A/C, etc) with 500 HP's for $258,000. This did not include a trailer. When we indicated this seemed a little high relative to the competition, we were treated like pond skum and totally blown off. Jay was there at the time and obviously does not remember as we later visited him in Florida. Take a look in the classifieds, a very similar boat with 575's, extension boxes on a trailer is for sale for only $179,000. Its the same year boat!!!!!!!!Sorry for the digression, but somethines I like to vent.

Point is I wanted information on the new 38 Sunsation. What I got was a call from a dealer that has price expectations that are unreasonable. On top of that, I requested info on a Sunsation and got a call about a Sonic. If I worked for Sunsation I would be royally pissed with GSC.

I am not going to buy a boat in the near future. I am very happy with my AT. But I think the guys at Sunsation needed to know this. I still want info on the new boat. I do not want a call from a dealer

I agree with you. Happens all the time when dealers handle more than ONE brand.

If I were Sunsation, I would set a trap for GSC and see how they handle the sale. Sunsation sends dealer another prospective buyer (a Sunsation employee) and let the dealer make the contact, if the dealer pushed Sonic, say good bye to that dealer.

I am in the wholesale business and there are wholesalers out there that are multi brand distributors that do the same thing. It is only a matter of time until finally the manufacture figures out that the dealer/distributor is not in their corner.

I would be pissed too.

Dear H20,

I apologize for the mixed up with one of our dealers and will certainly speak with them regarding the phone call. I handle all leads that come in through our web site and assign them to each dealer that covers the territory. What GSC may have been trying to accomplish knowing our new SS396 will not be ready until this time next year was to make sure you were not interested in another 38, nontheless I will take issue with them as it was an inquiry for a Sunsation and not a Sonic.

We also send out an information package to each lead as well when they come in and hope you've received yours. We had our new brochures come in just Wednesday this week and held the packages until we could include the new brochure that has the updated information on models, pictures, graphics and other information, so if your package hasn't arrived, give it a day or two as many were shipped just yesterday. Our web-site (company)was also just given all the new information and shortly will also be updated with all the new information. Please feel free to email me directly if I can answer any other questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

David Hare
