Default Distributor gear for Comp Cams billet stick?

Brand new Comp Cams billet hydraulic roller cam 525EFI clone with DUI distributor. I’m trying to figure out what gear I currently have, or I guess the best option is the composite unit?

Part# 01-446-8w

It says that it’s a pressed on cast gear on the cam.

If that is the case then a stock gear will work fine. I prefer to replace them when going with a new camshaft.

A hardened steel gear, correct?

Thanks, that's why I asked. Stock cast iron gear will suffice. Cam has same gear a flat tappet cam could have.

Thanks all. The one question I had was does this look like a cast gear or steel?
